I have taught college students and corporate clients how to design innovative electronic products, functional furniture, compelling digital experiences and beautiful environments.
Now I teach about design as a discipline in its own right – a mastery of process and skills that arise from deep in human consciousness. I am developing a unique curriculum covering the origins and nature of design consciousness.
Every person engaged in creating anything can benefit. Creators of tangible objects and virtual experiences. Developers of physical environments and conceptual spaces. Builders of economic, policy, community, mathematical and energetic models.
I present students with age and context appropriate content and exercises that help them address questions such as:
- What is design discipline?
- Why do we design?
- How can we design better?
I cover important topics such as:
- Pre-history of design
- Being an agent of evolution
- Setting creative intention
- Creating forms that fit
I welcome teaching opportunities that allow me to engage with curious, lively, creative minds – of any age and from any field.
