All creation requires a degree of artfulness. However there is confusion between what we call “design” and “art”. For what we mean when we create purely for the sake of creating, we sometimes add a modifier. As in “fine art”. I prefer to call the art I see, and do, that is intended purely to express a feeling, perception, insight or wisdom “expressive arts”. Being a visual designer I have also always used drawing and photography as an expressive outlet. More recently I have begun writing to give narrative expression to what I have learned about the consciousness that drives our creativity. You can read some of these writings on this website and, hopefully, essay and book publications to come.
